The workforce involved packaged up 30,000 items and took them to a number of places in Greater Manchester including Stretford Food Bank and Salford Royal.
Staff cleared the stadium’s bars, kiosks and kitchens of all perishable goods stocked for use up until the summer and loaded them into a fleet of Foundation vehicles with volunteer drivers on hand to make the deliveries.
This follows the £50,000 donation to the Trussell Trust to support 19 food banks across the local region as part of a joint fan-led initiative with Manchester City.
Manchester United donates food after every home game and looks forward to restarting this service when football resumes.
