Mixed fortunes for international Reds

Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes were on the winning side for Portugal as they beat Poland 3-1 in Warsaw.

Reds skipper Fernandes set up the opening goal with a knockdown for Manchester City’s Bernando Silva to volley in.

Former United star Cristiano Ronaldo netted his 133rd goal for his nation to double the advantage, before Piotr Zielinski smashed in to reduce the arrears for Poland.

But Southampton defender Jan Bednarek’s own goal late on sealed a third successive victory for Portugal in Group A1.

Dalot played the full 90 minutes and Fernandes was replaced in stoppage time by Otavio.
