Milan have given up their pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic after director Zvonimir Boban left the club.
The Serbian international has been on the wish list of some Italian clubs for years, and the midfielder originally looked destined to leave with his contract due to expire and after initially struggling for game-time this season.
Boban was interested in Milan signing Matic as a free agent before the 31-year-old activated an option to extend his contract last month until June 2021.
However, Calciomercato.com state that Milan have abandoned their interest entirely after the Croatian director was sacked from his position.
