Standard New Year's Day celebrations include a glass of champagne just after midnight, fireworks, a rendition of Auld Lang Syne and a headache later that morning.
But, as always, Memphis Depay opted to do things a little differently.
The Manchester United outcast, who hasn't started a Premier League game under Jose Mourinho, kept the Dutch tradition of jumping into water to celebrate the dawning of 2017, while documenting his leap for his followers on social media.
While the tradition usually involves jumping into open water, such as the North Sea, the midfielder opted to stick to warmer conditions and took the plunge in an indoor pool.
