Former Manchester United coach and FC Twente manager Steve McClaren was celebrated ahead of Wednesday’s Europa League match at Old Trafford.
The 63-year-old was recognised for his contribution to both clubs, with Sir Alex Ferguson and Twente’s Wout Brame presenting him with an engraved silver plate at pitchside.
McClaren famously became Sir Alex’s assistant manager in February 1999 following Brian Kidd’s departure, and, together, they went on to win the iconic Treble later that year.

Steve later embarked upon a successful managerial career of his own and that included an incredible spell with Twente, in which he helped the Enschede club to their only Eredivisie title (2009/10) to date.
