Atalanta are reportedly in talks with Manchester United to sign Mason Greenwood on loan.
The Red Devils' forward was included in a list of players being retained by Erik ten Hag's side as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
But he was not present among those returning for pre-season training at Carrington this week.
Mail Sport understands his inclusion reflects the fact that he is under contract at Old Trafford until 2025.
Greenwood is currently the subject of an internal investigation by the club, after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped charges of attempted rape and assault against him in February.
