Marcus Rashford capitalises on rare Manchester United start in what could be a career-defining game

The boos from Manchester United fans that greeted Marcus Rashford's substitution after 70 minutes against Liverpool were aimed at the manager's decision rather than the player himself.

In fact, Rashford couldn't have done more to justify a rare Premier League start under Jose Mourinho, scoring twice to give his side a 2-0 half-time lead and equally importantly stopping any forward runs from Liverpool's bright and energetic right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

There will be some who think he deserved a second yellow card before he'd been substituted for a lunge at Alexander-Arnold but overall he emerged from the pitch in huge credit.
