Manuel Ugarte is due in England on Tuesday for his medical ahead of his transfer to Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain.
The clubs agreed on a fee on Monday night after United’s Jason Wilcox headed to Paris to finalise negotiations. Wilcox was joined in Paris by Matt Hargreaves director of player negotiations.
The deal is worth £42million plus a further £8.4m in add-ons for the Uruguay international.
United were able to make their move finally as Scott McTominay closed in on a £26m move to Napoli and Hannibal Mejbri joined Burnley in a deal worth up to £9.
