Manchester United's Champions League tie against Young Boys next week will go ahead at Old Trafford after the Swiss club were granted an exemption from quarantine rules.
There was a danger of United’s final Group F tie being switched to a neutral country because Young Boys would have had to isolate for 10 days on their return to Switzerland and been unable to fulfil their domestic fixtures against Sion and Basel.
But United’s opponents announced on Wednesday that they will be allowed to travel to the UK without the need for quarantine.
A statement read: ‘The BSC Young Boys has received a special permit from the Canton of Bern for away matches in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Youth League.
