Manchester United's £20million star Phil Jones 'sacked his cleaners after they asked him for £300 petrol money to help him move home'

Manchester United midfielder Phil Jones has been blasted by his former cleaners who claim the £20million player sacked them because they asked him for petrol money to help him move home.

Husband and wife team Nigel and Angela Stubbs requested £300 from the centre back, who earns around £80,000 a week, for fuel money after helping Jones and his fiancee Kayla Hall move into their new £5million mansion.

The couple, who are both 51, said they were sacked in November with just six hours' notice and are facing life on the dole after losing their jobs.
