Manchester United are to appoint Omar Berrada – of Manchester City – as their new chief executive in a shock move.
The highly-regarded exec has resigned from his role as rivals City’s chief football operations officer and will cross the great divide in the near future in what is being seen as a major coup.
Mail Sport understands that Berrada’s arrival was driven by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS team, who have agreed a 25 per cent stake of the club and to take control of football operations.
The swoop, which sees Berrada, 46, take on a bigger role with more responsibilities across Manchester, is thought to have been signed off by United’s owners, the Glazer family.
