Manchester United have reportedly scouted Swansea City star Alfie Mawson.
The Sun's Dave Fraser reported United sent one of their top scouts to assess Mawson in Swansea's 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion and manager Jose Mourinho—who is eager to improve his options at the back this summer—received "rave reviews" about the 24-year-old.
Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in him and were informed he is valued at more than £40 million.
The likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have been far from convincing of late, while Victor Lindelof—who arrived at Old Trafford last summer from Benfica for £31 million—has struggled to replicate the performances that earned him his move.
