Manchester United are reportedly close to ousting misfit midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger from the club after severance talks got underway. Meanwhile, Tyler Blackett is on the brink of joining Reading on permanent terms.
The Daily Star's Paul Hetherington reported United are in talks with Schweinsteiger as they attempt to help the playmaker out the Old Trafford exit without having to pay the remaining £17 million on his contract.
The former Germany international has two years remaining on his deal with the Red Devils, and it's believed United will accept a fee of as little as £2 million for the 32-year-old.
