Juventus-bound Rodrigo Bentancur could have landed at Manchester United but the Old Trafford club were undone by a clause that took former striker Carlos Tevez back to Argentina.
Boca Juniors starlet Bentancur received approaches from United, as well as Real Madrid and AC Milan, according to Boca president Daniel Angelici.
However, with Juventus having first-option on youngsters at La Bombonera until April 2017 due to a stipulation in the deal that saw Tevez move back to his first club in 2015, the Argentine club had to accept the Old Lady's offer first.
With Bentancur now set for Turin, Angelici revealed the high demand for the 19-year-old Uruguayan midfielder's services, with United apparently stating their interest.
