Manchester United 'ready to give AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu a lucrative five-year contract' with San Siro star at a stand-off in talks over extending his deal 'after being left unhappy at latest £54,000-a-week offer'

Manchester United are reportedly planning to swoop for AC Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu - and prepared to offer him a lucrative five-year contract to lure him to the club.

The Turkish playmaker is out of contract next summer and has reached an impasse in talks over an extension with the Serie A giants.

Reports in Italy claim Calhanoglu has been left frustrated by Milan's latest offer of a deal worth £2.8million a season (£54,000 a week) and, with the situation far from being resolved, has attracted the attention of a number of other clubs in Europe who are monitoring the midfielder.
