Manchester United are planning to build a ring of steel around their training ground to protect its star footballers from lorry-driving terrorists.
Security will be bolstered at the club's Aon Training Complex to include bollards, automatic barriers and 11ft-high steel gates.
Planning applications outlining the Premier League giants' plans have been submitted to local officials.
Club bosses said: 'A range of measures are proposed.

'This level of security is required due to the high profile of Manchester United and to ensure visitors are controlled and the complex remains secure.
