Alexis Sanchez is set to be welcomed back at Manchester United next season but may have to settle for a back-up role at the club.
The Chilean forward is currently on loan from the Red Devils at Inter Milan, where he has continued his disappointing form in major European football after being exiled at United last season.
The 31-year-old is currently on a £500,000-a-week contract and has two years on his current Manchester United deal.
Yet according to the Daily Mirror, Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has met with the club's chief executive Ed Woodward, with the club choosing to keep Sanchez in its ranks next term instead of paying off the striker to terminate his deal.
