Casey Stoney has been tipped to be an "amazing" manager of the new Manchester United women's team.
Reports have emerged that the former England Women's international is on the verge of landing the job for the club who are expected to be announced as members of the inaugural FA Women's Championship - the second tier of a restructured league system - at some point next week.
The club have been interviewing for a first-team boss and 36-year-old former England captain Stoney appears poised to step into the role.
She is set to be confirmed in the post, the Daily Mail and BBC reported, which is likely to mean Stoney leaving her role as assistant to England Women manager Phil Neville.
