Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata is the player Manchester United need and should be signed at all costs, according to the club's former assistant manager Rene Meulensteen.
Morata and his agent Juanma Lopez are believed to be close to reaching an agreement with United over a £70million move from Madrid this summer.
Jose Mourinho turned his attentions to the Spaniard after failing in a bid to sign Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann - and Meulensteen believes he would be a better alternative to Romelu Lukaku and Andrea Belotti.
'Obviously Lukaku knows the Premier League and has played in the Premier League for many years,' Meulensteen told 888sport.
