Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho accused of £2.9m tax fraud during his time at Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho has been accused of defrauding tax authorities by Spanish prosecutors for a sum of £2.9million (€3.3m) during his time at Real Madrid.

Spanish prosecutors said on Tuesday they had filed a claim against Mourinho on two counts of tax fraud in 2011 and 2012, when he managed Real Madrid.

Mourinho owes the Spanish tax authorities €3.3m, a Madrid prosecutor said in a statement, adding it had presented a claim to a local court.
