Manchester United have reportedly joined the race for Bayern Munich star David Alaba after making 'formal contact' with the outgoing defender's representatives.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has accepted that Alaba is likely to leave the German giants when his contract expires in the summer of 2021 after a new deal was not agreed despite their best efforts.
Alaba will therefore be free to talk to other clubs in January, with Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea reportedly the frontrunners for his next destination.

But AS report that United is the latest club to declare interest in the Austria international, and have made formal contact with the double Champions League winner's representatives.
