BURNLEY, England -- Manchester United fans have flown a banner over Turf Moor in a protest aimed at Ed Woodward.
A plane carrying the message "Ed Woodward -- specialist in failure" was displayed during the first-half of United's Premier League clash with Burnley on Sunday.
It is a reference to Jose Mourinho's rebuke of former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in February 2014 and follows a summer transfer window during which United's executive vice-chairman missed out of key transfer targets, chiefly a new centre-back.
Mourinho has made no secret of his disappointment at seeing the club spend just £68 million to sign Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant this summer and warned that his team could face a "difficult" season.
