Manchester United are weighing up moving for five other striker targets this summer, according to reports, with the club expecting Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to play hardball in a bid to prevent Harry Kane from leaving.
Spurs talisman Kane, who became his side's all-time record goal scorer this season, is understood to be a prime target for United and Erik ten Hag ahead of the next campaign, although Levy has been notoriously difficult to negotiate with in the past.
As a result, United are actively pursuing alternatives with Ten Hag desperate for a clinical new forward, although their interest in Kane has not yet ended.
