Manchester United have employed a counter-terrorism expert in a bid to beef-up security at Old Trafford.
United have been embarrassed by two high-profile security blunders in recent months and are wary of security concerns facing stadia in Britain.
The position is the first of its kind in the Premier League and has been filled by a respected former inspector from Greater Manchester Police’s specialist search unit, according to the Daily Mail.
All the windows at Old Trafford were covered with a clear anti-shatter film last year after bombers struck at the Stade de France in November 2015.
