Manchester United reportedly doubled their transfer budget in the aftermath of their shock 4-0 defeat to Brentford.
Erik ten Hag's side were stunned in west London in mid-August as they conceded all four goals in the first 35 minutes in an embarrassing display.
The result left United bottom of the Premier League after the first two games of the season as they also lost at home to Brighton on the opening weekend.

According to The Athletic, the club's original transfer budget for the summer was £120million but this figure increased to 'nearly twice that size' following the Brentford fixture.
