Luke Shaw admitted his frustration at being dropped by Jose Mourinho last weekend before imploring Manchester United to break the shackles and win in style.
The left back did not even make the bench as United were embarrassed 4-0 at Chelsea before being reinstated into the starting XI for Wednesday’s win against Manchester City.
Shaw’s brother, Ben, allegedly rebuked Mourinho on social media following the Stamford Bridge snub, claiming the manager ‘has always had something against Luke,’ before later distancing himself from those comments by claiming they had been Photoshopped.
Mourinho criticised Shaw following defeat by Watford last month, but the player is understood to have taken no issue with that public dressing down.
