Manchester United chiefs ready to give Old Trafford a facelift as expansion to over 80,000 capacity edges closer to official approval with club set to appoint a master planner

Proposals to expand Old Trafford have moved closer, with Manchester United set to choose a master planner to oversee a widespread upgrade.

Officials say they want to ensure the stadium remains full, following extensive work, but it is unlikely any upgrade would see anything below 80,000.
