The adoption of this definition will provide employees and fans with a deeper understanding of antisemitism and education around appropriate language in the stadium, online and in the community. Staff and stewards will be trained in the IHRA definition and provided with the information and guidance required for them to be able to identify and act on any antisemitic abuse on matchdays.
The club announcement comes as The Premier League and other football clubs also announce the formal adoption of the definition. This definition has now been adopted by over 30 countries, including the UK, which was the first Government to do so.
