After Iker Losada's opener for the opposition, against the run of play, Erik ten Hag's men had to come from behind to notch the victory. The Reds did this in style, producing a burst of three first-half goals in a 13-minute spell, scored by Marcus Rashford from the penalty spot, Amad with a screamer and Casemiro following a corner.
Diego Llorente's second-half header made it a closer contest, at least in terms of the scoreline, but more importantly it was another night when the United manager was able to give invaluable game time to the vast majority of his squad.
