Manchester United youngster Charlie McNeill has apologised for aiming a dig at Liverpool after saying 'it would be good to rub it in their faces' ahead of their potential FA Youth Cup clash.
United's Under-18s will either face Liverpool or Sutton United in the next round of the competition after McNeill scored in a 2-0 win over Salford on Wednesday night to help them progress.
After the match, the 17-year-old forward stoked up the rivalry with Liverpool by admitting he is relishing the prospect of knocking them out of the Youth Cup.

However, McNeill has since took to social media to apologise for his comments, insisting he did not intend to come across disrespectful.
