Manchester United are weighing up whether to exercise their buy-back clause for Alvaro Fernandez at Benfica if they can't agree a fee for Lecce's Patrick Dorgu.
United had an offer of £16.8million plus £4.2m in add-ons rejected by Lecce last week and proposed £25.2m in further informal discussions, but have still to reach agreement.
They have a £15m buy-back option on Alvaro that is active until January 2026 and sent staff to watch him once again on Saturday night as Benfica played at Casa Pia.
The full back made his 18th appearance for the Portuguese side in their 3-1 defeat and has also featured in all seven of their Champions League games.
