Manchester United's CEO Richard Arnold has explained that Mason Greenwood has to leave the club because the club is prioritising the 'welfare, wishes and perspective' of his alleged victim.
While Arnold is satisfied that Greenwood did not commit the acts that he was charged with, the forward has accepted the mistakes he made.
In his statement, Arnold said that the club would continue to support the alleged victim as well as Greenwood to help them 'rebuild and move forward positively with their lives.'
Throughout the club's process, Arnold explains, it was 'it was essential for us to respect the rights and wishes of the alleged victim.
