Man United CEO Richard Arnold assures club staff his messages to fans at their pub summit are no different to those he has peddled internally, with email leaking after he was filmed reflecting on 'nightmare' season

Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold has reassured staff at the club that his statements to supporters at their impromptu pub showdown are no different to those he has been peddling internally, with an internal memo leaking.

Arnold, 51, branded last season a 'f***ing nightmare' and admitted that United have 'burned through cash' with poor investments in the transfer market in the surprise summit, which saw him sit down with 12 fans at The Boot Inn, Cheshire.

To the dismay of figures at Old Trafford, snippets of their no-holds-barred conversation were secretly recorded and then posted online by one fan present.
