Jose Mourinho has split opinion on his treatment of Luke Shaw but one of the left-back's former coaches has backed the under fire Manchester United manager.
Jason Dodd, who helped bring through Shaw while a youth academy director at Southampton, has claimed getting the best out of the 22-year-old is a high maintenance process.
After being substituted at half-time in United's 2-0 win over Brighton in the FA Cup on Saturday, Shaw was publicly criticised by Mourinho for his poor defending.

It is not the first time Mourinho has felt the need to question Shaw's application at the club, with the defender's fitness having previously been an issue at Old Trafford.
