Real Madrid have kickstarted Carlo Ancelotti's second spell in charge by tying down Lucas Vazquez with a new contract until 2024.
The extension was officially announced on Thursday afternoon after days of speculation and the versatile Vazquez is set to play a role in Madrid's quest for silverware next season.
However, the news comes as a blow to both Manchester United and Chelsea, who reportedly showed interest in snapping up the 29-year-old.
Vazquez was poised to leave the Bernabeu when his previous contract expired at the end of this month, although Madrid had been confident an agreement would be reached.
