Louis Saha believes that Frank Lampard didn't prove himself enough during his time in charge of Chelsea to justify him becoming Everton manager.
Lampard was appointed as Everton boss on January 31 and has lost eight of his 12 games in charge so far, with his team just one point above the relegation zone.
Everton have some tough games coming up, starting with Saturday's home game against Manchester United, and Saha feels that it was the wrong decision to appoint Lampard.
Speaking to Boylesports, Saha, who played for Everton between 2008 and 2012, said: 'When he signed on to be manager of Everton I thought, yes he was a great player, he has done some good stuff at Derby, but I didn't think he'd done enough to suggest he deserved to be manager of a team like Everton after the spell he had with Chelsea, who were playing in the Champions League.
