Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted Liverpool wanted to sign him before he joined Manchester United as a player back in 1996.
The now-United manager was hugely successful as a striker for the club, scoring crucial goals in their Treble winning season in 1999, including the winner in the Champions League final.
But before his move to Old Trafford, he caught the eye of a number of European clubs while starring for Molde.
The list included Liverpool, who were trying to catch up with United, but Solskjaer insists he only ever wanted to join United.
