Liverpool are poised to beat Manchester United and Southampton to France youth international Yasser Larouci.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder played for Paul Pogba's former club Le Havre but has rejected their offer of a contract and is a free agent.
Born in Algeria, Larouci, who can play on the wing or behind the striker, had a trial at Southampton in December and was also watched by Manchester United.
However, Liverpool are now confident of him signing up with their academy.
