Michael Owen made the bold statement of naming Liverpool as the favourites to win this season's Champions League on Wednesday night after just four rounds of group stage fixtures.
He had just watched Jurgen Klopp's side dismantle Atletico Madrid at Anfield after a dominant opening 45 minutes that put the Spanish side to the sword on Merseyside.
Liverpool were comfortable 2-0 winners and sealed progression from a group also featuring AC Milan and Porto with two matches to go.
The Reds, who also extended their unbeaten run across all competitions to 25 games, have barely been troubled in Europe this season, beating Atletico twice and both AC Milan and Porto in their first meetings earlier in the competition.
