Liverpool and Manchester City must start preparing for life after their current managers, if they are to avoid the same pitfalls as rivals Manchester United.
That is the view of former Old Trafford assistant Rene Meulensteen, who has watched his former club lurch from appointment to appointment following the resignation of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
Guardiola's contract at the Etihad stadium runs out in 2023, and the Spaniard has suggested he could be set to leave when it expires.
Rene Meulensteen has warned Liverpool and Manchester City must prepare for the departures of Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola respectively
Meanwhile, Klopp's current deal only runs until 2024, nine years after he first joined the club in 2015.
