Tony Cascarino believes it’s time for under-fire Mike Dean to step down, insisting that the 48-year-old referee’s recent high-profile errors prove the Premier League needs younger officials.

Dean was blasted for his ‘arrogance’ and ‘rank-bad refereeing’ in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over West Ham on Monday, where he sent off Hammers star Sofiane Feghouli after just 15 minutes.

The Frenchman was shown a straight red card after a clash with Phil Jones, but most agreed the decision was harsh as both players launched into the 50-50 tackle.
