Lisandro Martinez will be out of action for at least eight weeks after damaging knee ligaments in Manchester United’s win over West Ham on Sunday.
Martinez limped off at Old Trafford with an injury to his right knee after it buckled under the weight of Vladimír Coufal as they tangled in the 66th minute.
The United defender tried to carry on for a few minutes but went down again in some distress and was immediately replaced by Raphael Varane.
Martinez had scans on Monday which confirmed the damage to his medial ligament.
