Lazio have revealed that Manchester United are to blame for their failed move for Mason Greenwood as the forward instead joined Getafe on deadline day.
The 21-year-old completed his move to the La Liga side and they will not be paying a fee for, but will cover a small contribution of his wages for the duration of the loan.
However, it looked likely that he would end up in the Serie A on deadline day as Lazio were heavily linked with a move for the English forward.
Lazio's president, Claudio Lotito, claims Greenwood was keen to join the Serie A club but United did not sign the paperwork in time.
