Juventus 'turned down chance' to sign Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani shortly after Cristiano Ronaldo headed in the opposite direction to return to Old Trafford

Juventus reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign Edinson Cavani at the end of the summer transfer window.

The striker faces added competition at Manchester United this season after the club brought Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

Cavani has since lost his number seven shirt to the Portuguese star and it also has sparked speculation over his own future at Old Trafford.

Edinson Cavani was reportedly offered to Juventus before the end of the summer window

And according to Calciomercato, the 34-year-old was offered to the Serie A giants, despite only signing a new one-year deal at Old Trafford back in May.
