Sir Alex Ferguson was never a shrinking violet during his press conferences – more of a shrieking purple. He was cunning, selfish, devious, and sometimes a bully. But with this red-faced rant about Juan Sebastian Veron, he was pretty much spot on - albeit a tad rude.
There would have been very few people in that room with Fergie who would have predicted Veron, written off as an overpriced luxury, would one day go on to resurrect his playing career aged 41, donating all his wages back to his club.
