Jose Mourinho leaves Lowry Hotel as he prepares for EFL Cup semi-final test after making displeasure clear to his Manchester United players in training

Jose Mourinho is stepping up Manchester United’s preparations for their EFL Cup trip to Hull City after making his displeasure with their draw at Stoke clear to his players this week.

Mourinho was frustrated to see United lose ground on the rest of the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ in a 1-1 draw at the Bet365 Stadium – and has not hidden his feelings in training since.

On Tuesday morning he was pictured leaving his Lowry Hotel residence before United look to make amends, to some extent, by securing a place at Wembley on Thursday night.
