Joe Cole has pleaded with the Football Association to do more to prevent dementia among footballers following Sir Bobby Charlton's shock diagnosis last week.
News of Manchester United legend Charlton's Alzheimer's disease was announced by his family last week, which follows the death of brother Jack and his United team-mate Nobby Stiles this year who both struggled with dementia.
Ex-professional Cole, who retired in 2018, revealed he was not aware of the risk of dementia through heading the ball during his playing days and has demanded that football's authorities in the UK to work hard of reducing the risk of Alzheimer's among players.
