Jamie Carragher has claimed Ruben Amorim must make his own decision over whether to keep Ruud van Nistelrooy at Manchester United.
Amorim, 39, was confirmed as United's new boss last Friday, but he won't start work until Monday, November 11.
The Portuguese coach - who will take over a United team who have been badly struggling this season - is set to bring several of his trusted staff members with him, but the futures of Van Nistelrooy and fellow assistant Rene Hake are uncertain.
In fact, interim boss Van Nistelrooy gave an impassioned plea to stay on last week and insisted he plans to see out his two-year contract.
