The 30-year-old has spent the second half of the season with the Reds after completing a temporary switch from parent club Crystal Palace in January.
Butland’s move to Rangers, on a four-year deal, will become effective on 1 July, the day after his United contract expires.

The shot-stopper did not make an appearance for the Reds during his short stay in M16 but was a welcome addition to our goalkeeping department, adding further top-flight and international experience for a busy period in the season.
