Ipswich 1-1 Man United: Ruben Amorim kicks off his Red Devils reign with an awkward draw after Omari Hutchinson cancels out Marcus Rashford's dream opener inside just two minutes

Manchester United began the Ruben Amorim era with a 1-1 draw against Ipswich on Sunday as Omari Hutchinson stunning strike cancelled out Marcus Rashford's opener inside two minutes at Portman Road.

Amorim, who started work at Old Trafford last Monday as Erik ten Hag's successor, got off to a flying start when Rashford coolly slotted home Amad Diallo's cross minutes into his reign, repaying the Portuguese boss for selecting him to lead the line against Kieran McKenna's Ipswich.

A bizarre fire alarm at Stockley Park saw VAR go down for six minutes towards the end of the first half and led to Ipswich scoring a superb goal during the outage, with Hutchinson curling an effort past Andre Onana to level the scoreboard just before the break.
